Applications will be accepted through Friday, March 7th. Apply today.
Everyone loves a story. And it turns out that stories are a powerful tool you can use to connect with your key audiences: caregivers, professionals, donors, and board members. That’s why the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network and its partner, ZERO TO THREE, are leading a Learning Community across the month of April to support your efforts to use stories to lift up the amazing work you do for grandfamilies and kinship families.
What is this Learning Community?
Our Storytelling Learning Community is designed to build your knowledge and skills around this communications approach. Discover how you can share stories to connect and engage with stakeholders—and motivate them to take action!
Storytelling harnesses the power of personal experience to raise awareness of an organization’s mission or cause, support fundraising, or increase engagement in program services. In this Learning Community, communications experts will help us learn how to craft a compelling story, frame stories with the message in mind, and share stories to motivate action.
What Can You Expect?
We have expert speakers lined up to share:
- Why stories are a powerful tool for your organization to spotlight needs, impact, and achievements
- What components make a powerful story and what pitfalls to avoid
- How to design you story to help you reach who you are trying to reach and encourage them to do you want them to do
Each session will include a short presentation, time for Q&A, and an interactive component that allows participants to put these new ideas and practices to work. The goal for this experience is to help you translate ideas to application.
I’m In! When Do We Meet?
The Storytelling Learning Community will meet once a week for the first four weeks of April, on the following dates. Each 90-minute session is from 2:00-3:30 p.m. Eastern Time (1:00-2:30 p.m. Central Time; 12:00-1:30 p.m. Mountain Time; 11:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Pacific Time; 10:00-11:30 a.m. Alaska Time; 9:00-10:30 a.m. Hawaii Time):
Monday, April 7, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET
Monday, April 14, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET
Monday, April 21, from 2:00-3:30 p.m. ET

Consistency supports relationship-building and learning. With that in mind, if you register to learn with us, please make plans to attend all four sessions.
